Started the day with french toast and chai. I was thinking about my brother who recently moved to Chicago to work after graduating from college. He told me about his poor eating habit of ordering food and eating out when he's not able to cook. This forced me to start recording simple and healthy recipes that are tailored for working singles.
Easy Breezy French Toast:
Yield: 4 slices of bread (Good for one but better for two)
Easy Breezy French Toast:
Yield: 4 slices of bread (Good for one but better for two)
Ingredients:
3 eggs
4 slices of bread
1 cup of milk
2 tablespoon of honey ( or sugar )
A generous pinch of cinnamon
Butter (must pronounce this with an English accent in the morning like "but-ta", you'll need enough to cover the pan)
1. Whip eggs with milk, honey, and cinnamon.
2. Dip the bread slices in the batter and let each soak for about 1 minute.
3. Heat the pan (medium heat) and add the 'but-ta' so that it coats the bottom of the pan (do not let the butter brown).
4. Place the batter-covered bread slices onto the pan and let it sit for about 2 minutes or until it browns to your liking.
5. Flip the bread and now let it brown on the other side.
That's it!
I like to serve this with homemade berry syrup but I know my brother would rather get maple syrup from the market to save him time. Anyways, serve the hot french toast with some fruits and warm chai and you're bound to have a great morning.
